Going with the pronunciation of french words, I would say "mah-RAHN"

Wyandotte has confused me too. Along with Cochin. I say Wyandotte the same way @carcar80 does. But I say "COE-shun" for the feather legged guys!

I say Cochin that way too, just bc I've watched a video and heard it lol

It's a confusing one because it has a double T, which would indicate a short o like the word "dot". But there is also an E at the end which would typically indicate a long O like "dote" or "poke". It was just hard to tell WHICH rule it was supposed to follow! LOL!

It's just like with Marans ... pronunciation is based on where the name came from. Darn the rules of language, woman. LOL
