YO GEORGIANS! :)

(Dallas TSC told Roboduck that they are expecting 16 different "flavors" of chicks and ducklings over the course of their live bird sales this year.)

Canton (Cumming Hwy) told me that they don't know when they are coming in or what they are getting, but that you can put in a special order. But they didn't really seem to have a clue for the most part. They said they usually come a month before Easter and that the hatcheries vary, based upon who gives the best price to corporate.

And since we got onto the subject of incubation, hatching, etc., (wait... aren't we always on this topic?) I decided to go ahead and show the pics tonight of the old LG incubator, versus the new one. First, the old: Water trays. Kept my humidity around 50% when always filled with no problem, but I know others had trouble. Only three actual "trays" for water though. Very shallow depth to the bottom piece. You can probably see how the one chick almost FELL out when I opened the lid. Just add an egg turner, and they're high enough! The "lip" around the bottom piece to hold the top on was on the INSIDE. It's also very short, and the lid could sometimes be barely bumped, and would jump right on top of it. It's like the old design wanted everything "in the top" with the heating element. Once you add things in (even if it's just the wire screen and the eggs) everything is pushed up above the bottom piece of styrofoam. It made it very top-heavy too. The two side-by-side (well, kinda - they would be if you turned the PIC sideways). And the new one: Six separate "trays" for water, and they cover a LOT more surface area for those who have trouble getting humidity up there. The lid now sits inside the bottom instead of on it. The lip holding the lid in is now on the OUTSIDE. LOTS MORE DEPTH TO THE BOTTOM! While the top isn't as deep anymore, it didn't need to be. Now the chicks, ducklings, goslings, whatever, won't simply fall out when the incubator is opened. They sit low enough that they still have walls even with the egg turner in (which I hadn't moved yet). The lip that holds the lid on is also much taller/ deeper than it was before. And the edge of the lid is almost completely hidden, so no more bumping corners and accidentally knocking the lid off. The whole new set-up. It looks like viewing windows are larger, but they really aren't. The top is just slimmer now which makes the windows appear larger. The heating element still sits right in part of the view area though.
I have both and a brinsea octagon Eco. My new Lg circuit board isn't working anymore. I'll have to order a new circuit board.

Somebody needs to just give me a GQF Sportsman.
