After getting back from TSC with the fencing, I'll be there the rest of the day. Time to till up the garden for GAM. But I was j/k about him coming over. I can handle the rolls by myself. But y'all are welcome to stop by anytime. And I promise not to sneak a rooster into your trunk while you're not looking.

Hoop coops! They'll be lighter as well as cheaper. And they'll look a whole lot better than the ghetto shelters I have now.

I love mine for my turkeys; I move them every couple of days so I don't have to clean out their pen. It took me 2 days to put together. I used 2x4's for the base, two 4' tall cattle panels, heavy duty zip ties, a heavy duty tarp, some chicken wire and hardware cloth, two big eye bolts, two door hinges and a latch, and a handful of screws. I'll try to post photos from my phone.

I always cage mine for about 5-7 days and feed them scratch and sprouts. Helps keep them from being quite so tough.

Also, we keep them off food for 24* (well at least overnight I guess) to empty their system.. Keeps things neater for dressing them out.

I wouldn't say that.. Remember my warning about lone twos or threes, huddled in the corner under the heat lamp, with single tears rolling down their little beaks.

Talk to 'em really nicely and say "thank you"? It's the same as processing young birds for meat; withholding food is a personal preference. A full crop is easier to see and gives you something to hang on to when removing it, but makes a bigger mess if you accidentally break it. That's all I can think of.
