YO GEORGIANS! :)

Welcome pr0wlunwoof!!

Went outside to figure out how we were going to orient the coop and got into an argument. The hubs doesn't care where or how, just wants to know where to put it. I want to get it right since on one side will be the run and the other side will be the garden. But I also want to see the front of my coop from the front yard... I don't really want the front of the coop to face the side of the house. There aren't any windows on that side that I could see it anyway. Now I'm getting the silent treatment!

There is a picture of my coop.

I put a hardware cloth bottom in it. The protruding thing under the coop is a drawer I made to catch the poop as it falls down through the hardware cloth. Hopefully it works.

You might want to look at putting PDZ (for horse stalls) in the pull out drawer so you aren't scraping disgusting dry/wet poop off the tray (assuming most of it doesn't get stuck on the hardware cloth first).

Here is a good thread on poop boards with PDZ, I am making one for under the perches:

Also it is hard to tell from the pix but do they have an outdoor run? They aren't going to be living on hardware cloth are they?

@pr0wlunwoof Welcome! I have a daughter near you; I hear ya about the grocery store -drives is crazy too! I love your coop; is that a solar light you've got hooked up next to it?

Or not.

Anybody wanna give me the Dummy's Guide on goose eggs with detached air cells?

Leave them out of the incubator for about 24 hours, large end up, then hope for the best. All 9 of mine have detached air cells, but the first three are still developing. Still waiting to find out about the other five. Too early to tell.
