Is there any chance your other roo will come back ?

Almost definitely no. When they got out, it was two hens, and him. They are all close to or over a year old, so he would have stuck around them just for breeding rights - since all other roosters were in the pens. But he was no where to be found. Not even a trace. And unlike polish HENS, he can still see a little bit out from under his crest. At least enough to see them and hang around.

So it's pretty likely that after he got out, a hawk got to him. Ground animals would have left a bunch of feathers from trying to kill and/or secure him in their grip before they took off with him. Hawks will SOMETIMES leave feather piles behind if the chicken can struggle enough, but not always. For the most part they swoop in, grab, and fly off up to a tree top to actually kill/eat. So that's most likely what got him.

If I hadn't JUST called up there to add the white polish to my order, I would have considered adding dorkings for you. But then the numbers listed on their website for April 7th are limited right now. No females available at all that week.

Well I ordered 10. Should keep at least a half dozen. As long as both roos don't die we should be okay... I wish they handled shipping better. She's also getting 15 rarest of rare assortment and her freebie rare.

I'm actually interested in straight run. But I don't know if "limited" means they actually have any available?
