YO GEORGIANS! :)

I'm happy to report the brahmas survived their first night outside in the chicken tractor. Although, instead of sleeping under the shelter of the tarp, or roosting, they slept out front in the open. Silly chicks!! That worried me a little. How soon should I expect them to start roosting?
The first night that our girls were out, we put them in the coop and had to actually place them on the roost. The 2nd night, they went in on their own, but we had to put them on the roost. Then every night since then, they have gone in and bedded themselves. It's funny to watch the "boss," our EE, trying to get the other girls to come in. Our Buffs will come in, but in their own sweet time. Yesterday, the EE was fussing from the door, and the Buff was on top of the coop.

I am flabbergasted at how much the cornish rocks eat. They will of eaten 50lbs in 2 weeks this Saturday.

I hear ya; that feed bill is no joke! And somehow they manage to create what seems like about a hundred pounds of poop from that 50 lbs of feed!

I think it's fine. When they get bigger, they'll just hop up and down it or fly to the top anyway.
I agree. Most of my ramps have been taken up, since they just keep knocking them over trying to fly/hop in.
Silly chickens. Don't they realize the ramp is there for THEIR convenience??

I can totally see that in my mind. Too funny!
Alright, tonight I'll start the "roost training" lol.

Ok, it is official; the new rabbit is named Jester. Thanks, Peeps. :) He is such a cool rabbit; everything I love about my Mini Rex rabbits, combined with lop ears and an even sweeter temperament from the English Lops! I'm trying to wait patiently for a girlfriend for him, but they aren't ready to leave the breeder's house yet. It's a good thing I'll be busy with chick stuff in the mean time ;) I went to groom a dog for a client today and came home for lunch, but now it's off to the farm to get things done there. See you later!

last week they were killing the feed. This week they are killing the water. The have almost gone through 4 gallons of water.
