Someone on this thread said they were looking for a small older trailer that they could pull behind a car and load up with stuff from auctions etc...

Can't remember who that was but I saw two old/small trailers for sale at a rural gas station here. One very small little camper trailer for 1300 and another larger one for 2800 being sold by the owner of the gas station. Possibly could be bargained down.

Who was looking for one again? I have the number but didn't take pics.
 
Quick question- I don't know if anyone saw my post from yesterday, so i thought I would ask again. Hope that is alright! I recently got some frizzle Cochin bantams from the local auction, and after looking closely, they have blue earlobes. Is that normal for a frizzle Cochin? My last ones did not have them, if I recall correctly...

Not really, unless they were crossed with silkies somewhere in their lines

Thanks! I guess that's a real possibility, seeing as I thought I saw extra toes yesterday but brushed it off as their feathers being funky on their feet. I will have to take a closer look at that now. I've been giving them time and space to acclimate since they are so flighty and frightened since coming home with me.
 
Okay, I think I have solved my dying chicks dilemma. At least mostly.

First, I have three buff polish chicks and a white roo. I really wanted the silver lines too, but McMurray won't have any when my bantams ship. So I got a roo instead. To make sure I keep a good roo-to-hen ratio, I got the only polish pullets they had - white-crested black. But simply breeding silver laced to buff laced will open some doors for me to continue both lines.

Then for the cochin issue, I ordered a solid white roo. I still have the two blue and one silver-laced chick. If the silver laced ends up being female, I now have a roo for them. I have no problem tossing the two barred rocks in there for the hen-to-roo ratio to keep them happy.

And then all chicks that I have hatched myself lately, got listed on Craigslist today. That should free up some room so I can space them out a bit more, but also justify paying the extra money for the brooder bulbs that come $5 per bulb. But all young babies are inside right now, so no need to worry about cold temps right now anyway.

So cross your fingers that everything goes well from here on out!

I forgot to mention, I also tossed my bantam-ish EE hen in with the frizzles and silkies. (She's a mutt breed from a large fowl EE, bred to a bantam hen, and kept most of the bantam size, AND the blue egg gene.)

With any luck, and her submitting to those boys, I might be able to start silkie bantam EEs and frizzle bantam EEs as project breeds.
