It is probably bumblefoot. It is caused by her living in a cage with a wire floor. It is a bacterial infection. You can lance any areas that have pus in them and use an antiseptic on her feet. She may need antibiotics. These chickens have never walked in grass or been free. I'm glad you have her.
They are loving being outside. The other two hens are having a fit over the grass. What kind of antibiotics should I get her and should I lance her feet myself?

Evening everyone. Been helping friends move and just got home.. Whew! Lots of work and I hated to leave when I did.. Haha. Hope y'all are all good.

I put my yunguns in the run with my layers today. I'm not sure I'm real happy with the combo but they were just needing out of the cages they were in. There was plenty of sparring but nothing over the top that I saw. Of course, I remembered AFTER the move, wait they still need their starter grower.. So I put a couple chick feeders with their food in there as well as a separate waterer.

Got home and the ladies were in the coop.. Babies are huddled together at the door but I didn't even fool with them. Feeders were toppled, lol. Looks like a fun time was had by all.

I still am fighting mites on my girls, but like I said the babies just needed room. I guess I'm just gonna break down and get the medicated powder from TSC instead of my DE. It seems to be decreasing them but is just not finishing the job. :(

So. DO YOU have to toss eggs when you use that stuff??

Morning folks, im down to 400mb of service so if I disappear since its so close we will wait til the 5th. Extra service costs so much and hubby sent message money is coming so im not freaking out now. On the house the young man who is helping me got busy past few days with his family chores. But seems like the lady is waiting on us. If its meant to be God works it out. One of my NNs is ill today so I put it in my washingbator where its warm with food and water. I GOT A COCKADOODLEDOOO!! Today from one of my two older chickens on the roof! The buff one in my pics named Armat. Everyone told me it was a she, so I guess we surprized them or I got a mixed up hen lol. Videoed it and will post after 5th. Excited! Take care, hope I will know more this week on house. Things here run on GODS time.
Oh I looked around a bit more at the vet office when we got cat food the other day. I dont think I could find DE here so what other things can I look for to keep onhand for treating illness or bug problems? As I said except for the Neovit I could not find anything online about the meds they gave me so I have no clues on use or warnings after use. Might go take photos of stuff so I can ask you folks how or what to use if the main vet isnt in the 2 ladies work7ng for him dont speak much english. Also going to ask about bulk feed once im in a house and can store it. See everyone later I hope.

I'm telling you guys that Sevins Dust works within minutes! I wouldn't do without it! Sprinkle it in the coop and all over your chickens! It's so easy and works! I've only had mites once, but it did the trick! Also, I add drops of dog flea, tick, mites and lice drops on the chickens necks. Buy the largest size (comes in three tubes) because all the sizes cost the same. I put the stuff in a container and with a dropper, I just add 3 drops to the back of LF, and 2 to smaller chickens. Keeps all that stuff away,

Okay. Hubby says he has some and I'm gonna do it! But the egg part- can I still eat them same day? Thanks!!

I'm ready to do this too, just curious about the eggs.

Woke up this morning to all 17 adult ducks on the pond raising heck. Looked out the window to see a fox pacing the shoreline. Grabbed my varmit control stick and sent him straight to hell. Bold little cuss that he was. He was a bit thin and sickly looking compared to others we've had here but didn't act rabid. Anyone know what other illnesses fox may carry?
