Well I may have misunderstood it.. My original thought was that the two chickens in the pic were supposed to be "male and female".. Maybe not.

Went to hang with the chicks after I let the Big Girls back in from free ranging. Things are going great with the integration, chicks are just learning to be big kids. :)

My Marans are surprisingly clingy. I had noticed when they were still caged, they were always very loud when I'd come around. Well today the splash pullet jumped up onto my shoulder while the cockerel tried to figure out how to get on my lap, lol (I was squatting).. Anyway, here's my splash girl

Broody hatched 2 eggs so far....4 more under her and 3 eggs under another broody.. They are due tomorrow. The babies are BOs from a neighbor. This broody, Halo, is a mystery chicken. The egg I hatched was suppose to be a Lemon Orpinton, but when it hatched, she has feathered feet and was obviously not what it was suppose to be. I sent a photo to the lady I had gotten the eggs from and she couldn't even imagine what crossed what with her available hens/roos. But, she makes a great mom and she lays a purplish brown egg, so I am happy!

She's pretty! I've got my first ever broody! :clap She's a game hen. I gave her a few game eggs to hatch. Can't wait to see how she turns out!!
 
Thanks, I really want the FBCM but I think I'm going to have to wait a while before I purchase anything else. My hubby is buying a car this week and even though it's supposed to be something to buy parts for here and there, I can tell it's going to be an issue because he's already swiping that card left and right! Are you in NW Ga by chance though? Just in case
