For sh*ts and giggles...
My McMurray Hatchery order this year:

What's left out of all of these chicks:
Silver Sebright Bantam - 1

Those are some REALLY CRAPPY ODDS! Especially since only ONE of them was killed by a predator (the White Polish Male). All the rest died of unknown causes. MOST of them were fine one minute, and dead the next. Just dropped dead out of the blue!
Meanwhile, I admit I have lost 8 of my own chicks. But one of those was weak out of the shell and just didn't survive more than a few days, one actually got his head caught in a small hole in the brooder (which has since been patched), and six were killed by a predator. So the deaths of the chicks I actually hatched out, had "reasons" behind them.
But to lose 45 out of 49 chicks that I PAID FOR, from mysterious causes, just doesn't make sense.
