No you don't... lolAnd now I want ducks![]()
No you don't... lol
I wouldn't have them if it weren't for the one fateful trip to TSC for bales of hay with my sister and niece. My sister picked up 11 Cornish Rocks there, and my niece got two ducklings. The cornish rocks are ugly, fat-footed, half-featherless aliens, and the ducks make a huge mess of every water container I set out! Then they'll get out of the water container, and play in the mud. The geese prefer to stick with the water or actual grass. The ducks want the mud. Duck poop also REEKS because of it's high water content adding more vapors to the air - ready for you to inhale!
Don't let her turn you away from ducks! Ducks are wonderful and loving little babies!Yeah... No. Never mind.
Don't let hr turn you away from ducks! Ducks are wonderful and loving little babies!Mine aren't that dirty (if you keep their cages/areas clean it won't that bad)!
Ducks are super messy if they are confined. And yes they are very cute and sweet to make up for it.
The best way I found last year was to keep them in a mobile enclosure. Every morning before work and every afternoon- (twice a day, every day, without fail)- I moved the enclosure and sprayed the waste/nastiness into the grass. Hosed the ducks as well. Refilled their water and feed. They go thru tons of both. But this way worked great for me.![]()
Ah, I knew I forgot something!
Yeah, four of the Buff Orp eggs you donated to the school were returned to me as chicks. If you want them back, you can have them. If not, I was thinking of keeping them. My sister wants to find a chicken she can raise for meat, and the Cornish Rocks (besides being nasty as hell) can't breed naturally.
