YO GEORGIANS! :)

"A" chicken? That thing, or ones just like it, has killed all but 3 of our ducks and about a dozen chickens. I plan to eat it to see if it tastes like chicken.
I'd almost be willing to bet "ones just like it" is a very good possibility. This year so far I've caught about 6 raccoons, so many possums I have lost count, and hopefully, soon, a fox.

Hey. Fence in that property and I've got your flock protector right here waiting for ya. Blue & rust.. '09 model so she's got experience under her belt. ;)

LOL. I think you're gonna have to train the donkeys better. I've seen their work! :p

The Doberman, on the other hand...

Hey, I'm just sayin.

Dawwwwwww.. I cannot believe how sorry he looks. And I can't believe he is capturing my sympathy!

He was only being what he is. If you put him down, please do it with no joy. All creatures have a life, they had a mother and a father, probably sisters and brothers and even babies. I know, but I am so at an age where I respect all life, especially animals. They do not kill to be mean like humans do. We have taken over their homes and destroyed their food sources. I know we all love our chickens, pets, etc and sometimes we have to kill something to protect them, but please take a minute and be sad for that critter. I had to kill two copperhead snakes this week because they were at my back porch and the dogs wouldn't leave them alone, but I was sad to have to do it. Yea, I am weird, but I even go on my deck during hunting season and yell to the woods, "Come to me all you poor hunted animals! You will be safe here!" Yea, I am the one who captures mice in my pantry and walks them a mile in the woods to release them. Yea, I am the one who captures spiders in my house and takes them outside where they will be happier! Call me strange.....my husband does!!!, but I just know that Life, no matter who/what it is, is precious.

Ok, I've said my piece. I will say no more! Yea, right!!! LOL

Oh, and yes, I have lost chickens to hawks and bears and I don't hate them for it. I just have to do a better job at protecting my chickens. After all, I live in the woods. I moved into those animals 'home' and can't expect them to not be here anymore. Although, I have to say, I haven't seen a raccoon or possum in years on my property of 25 acres. And although we hear the coyotes most nights and owls, they don't come close to the house. Must be the dogs and the renters! LOL, too much activity for them I guess. Or else, they have some mutual respect for my vibes with nature!

Ace Ventura - the female version

We're actually with you for the most part, flower. That critter was just doing what they do. It has been entered into the Robo-GAM relocation program.

Here is what we ended up with:
4 silver lace wyandottes, 3 rir, 2 americana (I think?)
Suppose to be all hens... hope so.
