YO GEORGIANS! :)

Our roosting poles are at the same level as our nesting boxes, so that could be the problem, but not going to change that quite yet. I have put golf balls in the boxes. I appreciate the advice!!!!
Hopefully someone else can chime in on this. I have only had chickens for a year and am no expert! I have however read in multiple places that your roosting poles should always be higher than the nesting box to prevent the problem you are having. We have a row of three on one wall and two that crisscross the inside of the coop. I added the two as an after thought, they weren't fitting on the three propped up against the wall very well. After I added those they immediately became the preferred sleeping spot.

Poison Ivy is nature's way of saying "No, you will NOT make your yard pretty! Your face, either!"

Just sucks when the sweat makes the medicated cream seep onto your lips, and you get stuck with the taste...

Ugh, I hate poison ivy! I use to could roll in it when I was young. Not any more! I have found a local product made by my neighbor who puts honey and Jewel Weed in the product. It's called Jewelweed Salve. REALLY keeps it from itching all day! And that means I don't spread it everywhere!

When I was about eight, I got infected with poison oak. But I had rubbed my eyes while it was on my hands and my eyelids swelled shut, overnight!

I'm almost betting I did the same thing this time - scratched my face before I knew I actually had it. But no eyelids this time, just my chin and the area between my lips and nose - both areas where I usually have heavy sweating on my face.

This hatching stuff is hard! I'm on day 19 of my VERY first hatch. I have 3 EE form my flock and 3 silkies from mrsdszoo that made it to lock-down. I had my first pip yesterday (day 18) and it's still made very little progress! Another pipped today and it's working on it! I was surprised to see a pip so soon! Was caught off guard!

Yay, congrats!!

So with my poison ivy outbreak, I read that benadryl could help stop the itching. So I took two earlier and got knocked the hell out!

I don't have allergies, so I've never taken benadryl before. And my butt decided to take two! If it wasn't for mrsdszoo being on her way with turkey eggs, I'd still be in bed!

But at least I don't have this overwhelming urge to scratch my skin off.

carcar gave our chickens lice.  Why would she do that?  I mean other than the obvious fact that she is evil incarnate.
I only pretended to use the permethrin to get rid of mine. What I actually did was to box them up and tossed them out on the way past your place.

Hey, I didn't want them on MY girls!!
