The issue is, she isn't sitting on eggs, they're imaginary. She did the same thing last time. The eggs are being laid in a top nesting box, but I know she is broody because she puffs up, pecks and growls at me every time I go near her nest. I took her eggs 26 days ago, when I realized she was sitting on them. There were only 2 and one wasn't hers. Not to mention, I don't even have a rooster. She would probably not make a very good mom either, Sugar however would make a great mom.

If you want to break her, she needs to be placed in a pen with NO nest box and NO eggs. Every time any hen lays an egg, especially if it's ever in the same box, she gets the reinforcement she needs to STAY broody. So you need to get her away from all eggs, and nests.

RIR is definitely a boy. The other chicken doesn't really look like an EE. Maybe a Swedish Flower? Doesn't scream boy either. May have to wait a little longer on that one.

yeah, im really not sure what kind of chicken it is, the lady i bought from said Easter Egger, but he/she has changed from a yellow puffy cheeked chicky to that. the other yellow one look all hen to me by comparison. oh well time will tell. I really only want 1 rooster, not 2. and I dont think i want a RIR roo. rather a diff kind. they are so fiesty

Here is a quick pic I just took of them again. I have 3 rir and you can see them in the first image.

So now that we're home and it can be told, we were in Virginia for the last week. We don't announce these things on the internet and invite the criminals to help themselves whilst we're gone. We got the 8 Pilgrims and 9 Mallards home without any serious issues. GAM asked about the blue kote because while cooped up in the crate for 10 hours, 3 of them got chewed up pretty bad. Somebody was "grazing" on their backs right where their wings attach. Everybody got to take baths in clean water when we got home. They had a blast.

Last night at about 7 or so, after we had been away since Sunday morning, the neighbor kid that was supposed to be taking care of our dogs and goats sent GAM a message asking when we were leaving. GAM had a serious panic moment and called a friend to come over and check on everybody. They were all hungry but apparently no worse for the wear. I'm sure the kid feels bad for having screwed up. He's a good kid. Oh well, no harm no foul.
