My Blue Copper Marans started at 23 weeks, about a week after my younger pullets started laying. My friend's Marans (hatched at the same time), have not started yet. We decided my my birds succumbed to peer pressure (chick pressure, hen pressure, etc).Yea, some breeds mature a lot later. I once had a Silkie who didn't lay her first egg until she was 48 weeks old! (Almost a year old!) Then after 18 eggs, she went broody. She hatched out some eggs from a neighbor, and died protecting those chicks from a bear.
I even had some EE who didn't start laying until 33 weeks! But, I think Marans, in general are slow maturers. (Is that a word)

See if he can take my wife with him next time he goes somewhere.... One way preferred.
Cool. I am not really looking for that breed but was interested given the situation. Glad she's getting them.Abmaddox already got dibs on the poults.
