YO GEORGIANS! :)

Well, I sat and watched her for about ten minutes. She is eating and drinking, so that's encouraging. She pecked at her feed but hasn't touched the egg/yogurt/TUMS combo I whipped up for her. Not sure why, it sounds delicious!!

She does seem to be "bearing down" a lot, and pooped twice while I was watching. It's very loose and pale yellow-y.. She will just stand with her eyes closed.

Can you send a fecal some place? Might that be of any help? Poor chicken, that sounds so sad that she just stands there with her eyes closed. Is she in the house and cool?

While working today, I passed a house with a bunch of different coops in the backyard. There were several coops that were close to the road and I saw many different colors of Crested Bearded Silkies!!! They were fat and pretty even from a distance. I will definitely be meeting these chicken people this weekend, although they don't know it yet. If I could have stopped today, I would have already broken the ice. I'll find out if they are willing to part with some adults/chicks or hatching eggs. I saw barred and white and black, there's no telling what's in those other coops. I can't wait until tomorrow and I pray it don't rain. I NEED TO KNOW WHAT'S IN THOSE OTHER COOPS!!!

Where at?

After telling y'all about one of my SS roosters being a bit aggressive toward my DH and son yesterday today the two SS roosters earned special treats. Our neighbors have a male peacock that likes to come visit and I usually throw him some sunflower seed. Today the peacock decided to go into the run and eat our chicken's feed. I shewed him out and he acted like he was going to attack me. Ace our head SS rooster made a loud warning noise and puffed up at the peacock. Then the peacock was attacked Ace and our other SS rooster, Silver second in command jumped on the peacock. I was freaking out because neither of our boys have spurs yet but the peacock has very nasty looking spurs. I chased the peacock off with blasts of water from our hose. He will not be getting anymore sunflower seed from me. I think they are going to try to sell him.

Were they Cuckoo Silkies? (the barred ones?) I have some Cuckoo Silkie eggs in my bator right now! Remember, Rocky, you are going to get to have some of my chicks! I think we are doing a trade for one of your Crested Cream Legbar pullets!

I haven't forgot, I am going to inquire about their chickens for future reference, and I thought maybe some folks on this thread might be interested for future reference also. Believe me I am keeping my fingers crossed for a frizzled NN or two and possibly a Cuckoo Silkie or two... or three. I just can't pass a place with that many coops and not wonder WHAT'S IN ALL THOSE COOPS! I already have your CCL pullet ready to go. She's ready to leave the brooder, do you have a quarantine pen ready for her? That was a silly question, I know you do. You can get her whenever you want, just say the word and we will bring her to you.

I think I have figured it out!! YOU are their favorite hen, that's why they attack your DH they aren't jealous of the hens, they're jealous of his attention to you!!
