Our three "covered" runs have been full of water for the past few days due to the rain down pours. We keep having to get the water out with a shop vac. I am worried that the chickens will get coccidia from drinking the nasty water. I keep giving the probiotics in their water but doubt it will help. What on earth are we doing wrong for the water to keep coming in the runs? I even have plastic around the hardware cloth on the north and west sides of two runs to keep the wind and rain out and it is still getting in. When it stops pouring here I will try to get pictures of the mess. If someone knows what to do to correct the problem or where I can find out please let me know.

You need to watch when it rains to see if water is getting in around the bottom of the run. If it is, dig run off ditches around the high sides to redirect the water.

GAM just got back from our place. Apparently it rained Biblical proportions there last night. Looks like I need to dig some of the same ditches.
