Hi all, I too had a really good time at the swap and got lots of goodies and the supplies I needed. Many thanks to Flower for the instructions and seed for the fodder, and to Cliff for organizing and for the coupon for the feed. Too bad I left early so I missed meeting everyone else.
I did not get any chickens though, I am really stuck on wanting the breeds I had researched and dreamed of, and there were blue australorps for swapping.
A good friend just offered to raise chicks for me, so excited! It opens up a whole new world of possibilities! She is raising some for her and said I could add my 3 in.
Would anyone know of a local source of blue or lavender australorps? Or blue or lavender orpingtons? It would be ok to be straight run, my friend said she can keep the roosters. I just need to make sure it is a good source and healthy, don't think I can do a hatchery or tsc since I can't get 6 or more?
I am just so tickled to have such a generous friend and excited that I may get the breed I really want.
thank you in advance for any tips!
