I just love all the pics of everybody's babies and birds, such pretty flocks. The chick I was concerned about is doing just fine, guess being a late hatch made it super tired.

These are so cute! What TSC did you get them from? I didn't know they had Gamefowl at TSC.Since everyone else is posting their cute chick pictures, these are the babies I got at TSC last thursday.
Acorn!
Has been ID'd as a silver duck-wing old english game bird bantam.
Batman! Whose breed is still a mystery. (current suggestion have been cochin, langshan, or maran. Pretty sure she's a bantam though.)
Choco and Boco. I'm PRETTY sure these are silkies. I think they're going to be white, or another very light color.
CZ (cubic zirconia), Diamond, and Topaz, which are my silver laced wyondattes.
And finally, the three Rhode Island Reds! Peppercorn, Teriyaki, and Medium Spicy.
So far everyone seems really happy and healthy!
On Feb. 20th around 2pm I set 12 eggs I got from Flower, 4 Turken from the swap and some of my eggs. I've pulled 4 from my mix that didn't develop so I have 29 eggs in my hovabator. I want to try using the egg carton hatching method. What day should I pull the eggs from the turner and place in the cartons? I have the paper pulp type cartons. Also my humidity has been mostly in the 40 to 50 range during incubation, is this bad? I was going by the Hovabator instructions. What is a good humidity to keep it at for hatching?
Thanks for the info! Your chicks are sweet! I hope I can get mine to hatch. My humidity ran on average 55 and then I bumped it up to 65, my temp was steady a 100 degrees
look how necked his neck is, I'm still fascinated by this bird my first can't you tell.
the chick with the NN is the one that had a hard time, you can't even tell it was behind, any ideas as to what it will be?
@flower I can't wait to see what you get
Is lockdown on the 18th day from setting the eggs? You put the eggs in the cartons at lockdown. Be sure and cut the sides down and the centers out of each cup bottom. When I put the eggs in the cartons, I candle them first to see where the 'dip' is deepest in the air pocket and put that dip facing me, so all those dips are facing me. That is where they will pip and all those eggs will start their pips facing you. Makes it nice. Here is what it looks like at the end!
All nice and tidy!
Is lockdown on the 18th day from setting the eggs?
Yep. I set eggs same day as you, and my lockdown is tonight. However I had to work late and still didn't have my bator clean from the weekend, so it may be in the morning. It needs the night to stabilize. :/Is lockdown on the 18th day from setting the eggs?
Oh I was thinking my lockdown would start tomorrow afternoon. I didn't think you counted the day you set them. Is that not right?Yep. I set eggs same day as you, and my lockdown is tonight.
