Blue Mama.. She was my broody last year. She's laid like TWO eggs this year. I pretty much expect she'll be broody again at some point.. Fine by me, she's such a good one!

And last but not least, the Brahma babies from this weekend. Not happy with the toe feathering (or lack thereof) on the one on the right, but I figure I'll see how everything else looks as it matures.. For now it's at least cute. :)

during lock down they need all the air they can get
Ok. Got plug undone and all eggs in the plup carton bottoms. I cut holes in the bottom of the bottoms (hmm?) anyways, so now I have it all set up and the stinking temp is saying different things on the 3 gauges. The built in gauge says 100, the long plastic gauge sitting on the edge of the styrofoam says 98 and the digital gauge sitting on the screen says 97. UGH! Now what do I do? Humidity is around 61.

sit back and wait. I run the temp in my hatching incubator at 97-98 never had a problem. Keep a spray bottle around just incase u have to open the incubator after u have pips.

Who was looking for Cochins? There is an add on craigslist under hatching chicken eggs out of Anderson, sc. In the listing they mention that they also sell hens. They listed Cochins hens for sale.

Who's feeling wealthy?

This is from Facebook.
"Mottled English Orpington Chicks available now.
Awesome imported bloodlines from Autumn Farms and Greenfire.
$50 each straight run chicks."

This is from Craigslist.
"Im selling pure Ayam Cemani chicks. $100 per straight run chicks. Ayam Cemani are completely black: black plumage with a greenish shine, black legs and toe nails, black beak and gray tongue, black comb and wattles, black meat and bones and even dark organs. They are a rare breed. They are originally from GreenFire Farm."
