Bad news! Almost four weeks old and it looks like one of my chicks might have broken her leg somehow. It's splaying out weirdly to the side when she walks and she's limping badly.I have them on wood chips, so it shouldn't be a slippery floor for them. I don't know what to do.... Is there any way to splint a chicken leg? Is there any hope for her?
I'm so heartbroken... The RIRs were the only ones where I was pretty sure I had some hens, and of course it's one of the two.

Bad news here too. The wife tried to be sweet and let the chickens out last night, well she forgot. When i did a head count this morning the mille fleur d'uccle was gone. Oh well she was my least friendly bird of the group and i've already got plenty of chicks to replace her.

Aww they are lovely! They look around the same age as mine,. I think I only have one cockerel as he is quite raised/red in the face and the others are still very flesh colored and flat.

6 of them are 6 weeks, the other 2 are 5 weeks old. After reading up on the other threads on what to look for, 3 of them have 3 lines of comb starting in a clump, the other 5 only have 1 line, if what I've read is correct, that's 3 boys and 5 girls. I'll be happy if that's what it turns out to be, I'll give one to the grand daughter, keep one and see if I can sell the other. Gonna wait until I know for absolute sure though

that must be going around I forgot to lock up my birds and my male bantam is missing I hope he has found a good looking tree. Oh the NN thinks he is hot stuff it's funny to watch them spar at this young age, and he is getting red waddles.



@valleychicks the auction is detrimental to the check book, I have now won 3 auctions and waiting on my eggs, I get my new bator thursday!! getting the all inclusive one from our TSC and my son is going to fix or try to fix my other one, still think it is just a loose wire cause the fan still runs, but I did call the number you gave me and she was very nice and I have a return auth. so either way it will get fixed, then I will have 2, and then will have to hatch more and more and more!!!

Sounds like a plan. The store they want me at i am not terribly interested in. Dawsonville would be perfect though. We could move north and my new dual sport would love the forest.

It's the only store i have applied to but as i said i am not the most qualified candidate. The DM would definitely be taking the underdog route with me.
