YO GEORGIANS! :)

Popcicle sticks. Definitely popsicle sticks. I'm having trouble getting her to hold still and my boyfriend is scared to hold them for some reason. Hopefully I can convince her to hold still long enough to put the splint on!
put her head in a towel that will make them stay still if they can't see and tape it firmly and check often for cold if it is cold check tightness cause circulation may be cut off

Let the babies out to play today. They were having fun.

Then, I realized my resident snake, Samantha, had made her first spring appearance! I noticed the big bulge in her belly and was thinking, "Oh no! Samantha, did you eat one of my babies!" The babies were right below her!

But, all my babies are accounted for, so she must have eaten one of the numerous frogs that are in the garden right now. Thank you, Samantha, for not eating one of my babies! Poor Samantha, she can't fit back into her home right now!

So, I put some eggs in the bator on the 27th of March. For two days the bator only registered 90 degrees inside although the temp on the bator said 99.9. I wasn't sure which one was right, but I giggled a few wires and then both temps finally showed 99.9. So, I was curious and candled a few eggs today. No veins, just cloudy. I take it I will have to add those two days to the due date because it really wasn't hot enough to get things going well. (Or at least one extra day) Why does it seem to take forever for eggs to hatch! It's only 3 weeks, but seems like 3 months.

You're one of those people that watch pots of water waiting for it to boil, aren't you?

Ha! That reminds me of a Girl Scout I had once. We were working on a cooking badge. Now remember, these were 9th graders.....well, each girl was responsible for cooking part of the meal. This one girl was suppose to cook noodles and she had never cooked before so I told her to start by boiling some water. She put water in the pot and just stood there starring into it. I asked her what she was doing. She kept looking at it and asking, 'Is it boiling yet?" The water hadn't even begun to be warm yet! I mean, can you imaging a 9th grader who didn't know what boiling water looked like? Anyway, that is what I loved about Girl Scouting....it taught life skills.

So cool ... the brown/white female Muscovy that flew off months ago then was spotted living the wild life a few miles away ... has come home!! She just hopped right back into things like she was never gone.
