He's beautiful! I really had no idea how awesome chickens were until we decided to finally get these first four. I experienced the same sort of wonder when I got my first rabbit a couple years ago. I am literally chicken shopping right now because I don't want to wait to expand the flock.

I know! I don't think we're going to be there. I am so bummed out! I just had to message Robo that my husband is a no go. His work isn't very flexible. But, I didn't think of that option as far as chicken shopping, LOL. I am looking for a specific mix though, so maybe that's the way to go? Support your local businesses! The original plan is to have a mixed flock. I am in search of pullets of course. Specifically, 1 Buff Orpington so I have my Golden Girls, since Dorothy isn't likely a Dorothy after all. 1 Colombian Wyandotte, 1 Easter Egger, and 1 Pearl White Leghorn. We need to finish the coop (being built for up to 10) and get these girls moved and settled in. And rename Dorothy, too. Any suggestions for a cool boy name for a BO are welcome, too.

So come without him

It's true ... I'm even working on getting some of those freaky Turken things for the swap.

Those are freaky! But in a cool kinda freaky way. And I totally almost had a Jessica Simpson moment, too. I thought they were a cross of a chicken and a turkey for a minute there. But he explained it to me and that cleared that right up.
