Hey Rocky! Those 16 chicks I hatched from your eggs last week are finally getting enough feathers for me to tell if they are frizzled or not. It looks like 5 of the 6 NNs are frizzled and about 4 of the non NNs are frizzled! I will keep all the frizzled NNs! Those would be from the Marans, OE, and EEs, oh and the silkie NN is frizzled too! I'm pretty sure one of the frizzled NNs is a boy, but not sure about the others yet.
Got some of the CCL hatching now. The one out is a female! Yay! But, Incubator messed up. Thermostat on top said 99.5, but when I put the ducks and CCL in lockdown on Friday, I found that 4 of the duck eggs had died and some of the CCL eggs, too. I took my good thermometer from my hatcher and put it in the incubator and found that the inside was running 101! I'm sure that is why the ducks died. I have four more that were still alive, but not sure if they are strong enough to hatch.
..I had to turn the top thermostat to read 98.1 in order to get the temp on the inside to what it needed to be! Ugh, and this is from my new bator! But, 3 more CCL have pips and due date isn't until Monday, so they are just starting!
