Chick up date it has pulled threw thanks for all the help you all are the bomb , we started with vitamins I was not sure that was workinking its legs were still not supporting it so I thought I would try the band-aid some time that day half of the band-aid came loose it was wrapped around the one leg , that same day the chick could stand and walk again . So one Dora band-aid cured the chick chick thats what my grandaughter claims any way . How do you post pictures I would like to show you how the coop is going and all the babies .

to post pictures, see the bars at the top of your post box, first one on the left says size? ok, the fifth bar over, the first icon there, click it. It will bring up a box that lets you upload pics from your computer, do that then submit it

I know I've see some post on the thread that they had Naked Necks. Was thinking it was Cliff and Flower. If so can either of you help me please? I posted a day or so ago asking about NNs. Mine has injured her neck and it got me thinking, will this happen to her every time she is visited by a rooster?

We've had a few bad days losing chicks, NN getting injured and the storms have been pretty rough. Today is forecast for mostly sun so I hope it turns out to be a better day.

Bantam EE is a good guess on the pullet.. But with the lightly feathered legs I'd think Marans in there.. So maybe olive egger? My D'Uccles have (or will have) heavily feathered legs and a much different shape neck. And a regular EE wouldn't have feathered legs at all. At least I don't think..

My NNs don't have trouble mating. I've never had any injured on the neck. Maybe it got it's neck scratched while looking for something or maybe you have a young roo who doesn't know how to do his thing yet. I had a young roo who would try to get the hen standing in front of her and grabbing her head from the front. The hens would twist away from him often losing head feathers. He has finally learned. But, you shouldn't have to worry about their necks. And just so you know, there is a Naked Neck Thread. The guy to listen to is named Kev. He really knows genetics if you have any questions. Kassaundra is also a good one. She has had NNs for years!

She's not quite four months, no one is laying just yet, but everyone is about to get transferred to layer pellets and adding oyster shell. Hopefully soon!

Oh no! So sorry to hear. :( I hope the rest of your babies do incredible to make up for the losses!
