actually there has been, if you just google coyote attacks man you will find several instances...one just happened in NC not too long ago.
Chances are when this happens the coyote is rabid , imho.

Are you hanging the feeders head high? It helps with them not kicking out the food somewhat.
 
What do you all suggest for roost to roof clearance in a smaller coop? My coop is around 42" at its highest point ceiling to floor.
I have about 11"-14" clearance right now. Will that be sufficient?

The feeder is hung just head high, and the Serama is the most quilty for wanting to rake out the food. I have tried both crumbles as well as pellets and continue to rake it out. Have placed a saucer under the feeder in hopes to contain some of the feed And it continues to fill up.. Have checked the beak of the Serama and it is not to long, @ equal with her bottom beak. So that is why wondering if their may be a better feeder, maybe adjust feed and also deeper lip.
 
Hi again Georgians. :) Welcome new members.

Been a busy week. They added new kids to my schoolbus route, so my day got longer. :(
Now I won't be home before dark in the winter :( :(

On a happy note, we finished my daughter's chick play pen.
This is made of PVC with plastic garden mesh with 1" holes.

Each panel is 40" high, and while not predator proof, it will work great for my daughter to babysit the little ones from Flower.
Notice the little almost 3 month old Speckled Sussex's trying to get in. They are so friendly it is hard to get away from them.

 
Just thinking right now, but we have two POL pullets who just won't stay in the coop/run. I've clipped their wings but they are just hopping over. I'm thinking one may already be laying, but since she is out, no telling where she is laying! May sell them to someone with an enclosed area! One is an olive egger ( welsummer X legbar). The other is a polish mix. Im wondering if I should sell them. Especially if I am never gonna get them use to the nest boxes!
