YO GEORGIANS! :)

So THIS evening, one of my MFD flew up on top of our pole barn. Hubby said she "flew" up but I doubted him.. Until we all started trying to scare her off and she proceeded to FLY even higher up to the garage roof!

Bad girl! Bad! Girl!

DS managed to knock her off the other side and I got her out up. But for a minute there I thought she had outsmarted us!

LOL!

I had a naughty girl yesterday myself. One of my CCL's went next door into my neighbor's fenced in backyard. I waited until they got home, chased her down, then clipped her wings so she couldn't do it again. When I have time, I'll be clipping everyone's wings.

Yeah.. I mentioned that to hubby but then thought, in case of some sort of attack, I'd kinda WANT them to be able to fly. Double-edged sword and all..

Of course, hubby's reply was, "just don't let them stay out close to dark.."

Well duh. I knew that.

Hey everyone I have a quick question. I have two week old baby chicks. Do not have any experience with the Polish breed. This was a free one in the bunch. Well anyway it's a good bit smaller than the others is this natural for that breed.

My girls like to go back into the coop a lot during the day. Could this be limiting their sunlight when it comes to laying? Should I close the coop up when they come out if they have shade in the run? This may be a stupid question, just trying to figure this whole chicken thing out.

I wouldn't keep them out of the coop, don't worry they will lay and they are just getting used to their surroundings.

As long as your coop gets some light inside, it counts as daylight hours. You can google "how many hours of daylight is there today?" You will then be able to type in where you live to get an accurate total.

Polish have much slimmer bodies. They are more stream-lined than a Full figured chicken
