I worked at the Rockmart police station while doing my internship and I asked everyone and have a friend that works at Polk Animal Control and even made sure with them. I had 8 rooster at one time. Now I am down to 4 but 2 are bantam cochins so I don't count them. I am actually the 2 bantam cochin roosters and my bantam cochin frizzle hen. She is at the bottom of the pecking order and the other bantam hen in there and pulling her feathers out and eating them. She targets everyone but seems to target the frizzle more.
I can't help but imagine someone in town with 499 chickens.. That must be the oldest law on the books, lol.
So today I decided that the reason my one bantam roo stays at roost a lot is definitely because of the other bantam roo. It was so funny. I chased the underdog down from the roost so I could feel whether he is malnourished.. While catching him he faced away from me the entire time. Felt his weight, felt fine to me.
Then I decided to check the top dog. He is FUNNY. He faced away from me a good bit but did face me several times. BIG MAN!!
