Well here is one of the problems ... since I have the oh so amazing cabinet incubator, I don't do lockdown. So for me, I would be looking for any signs of internal "bulging" or actual internal pipping. With a basic incubator you may have issues with temp/humidity if you are in and out that close to hatch but for me it all comes down to getting them off the turners and into the hatch tray before they pip.

@Flowerbh 411 on the chicks from Kevin in Summerville, he has eggs hatching every Friday, they are straight run and this Friday he has BCM, Welsummers, Lavendar Americanas hatching, if only hens are wanted then later on he will grow some out with a guarantee of a hen if it turns out to be a roo he will swap, but it will cost more how much don't know, now if you want to tell me how to sex day old chicks then I will do my best. I told him I will call Saturday to check hatch and then come out to pick up chicks.

I'm going to see how things go with this 'off the shelf' basic one I have. If I can sell enough chicks by late spring, I'm either going to buy or build a cabinet model. I'd really like to get a good look at a couple of cabinets....

I'd really like to find an old worn out small size drink cooler. Already insulated, glass door, could take out the compressor and all the other workings and use that space for all the bator workings. If I could only find one.....

I love my GQF Sportsman but I imagine a wine fridge would be about as perfect as you could ask for when building your own.
