YO GEORGIANS! :)

Chickens are tougher than we think, I just try to keep them dry, but it seems they will just find the rain anyway. Least it is not freezing, then I would really be worried about them getting wet. I would just tie down all the tarps as best as I could.

I added 14 ameraucana eggs to the incubator today! lockdown on the first batch is friday. I am planning on picking up a still air unit to hatch in so I can keep the bator running. This is my first time doing this, so I am nervous and excited at the same time!

did you talk to your babies? I talked to the eggs every day wanted to see if they would recognize my voice when they hatched, they did, when I would talk to them they all would perk up, sooooo cute.

I have to give a nutrition class tomorrow and I am starting to feel like crap, of course that would happen, to get a cold, but I will go to doc after class and get a shot not missing TSC Swap!!!!

Thanks katsdar. That's what I've done. Depending on later reports I may sleep in the basement tonight. Following this we are supposed to get snow! I am tired of weather.

I saw one on CL earlier with the turner for $75. if I needed another turner I'd get it....I want to build a cabinet so bad I can't stand it, LOL I will admit I've started checking appliance repair shops looking for a small wine refrigerator that doesn't work and isn't worth them fixing......rip out the cooling parts and replace with heating parts, a thermostat and water containment for humidity.....

Get a Crested Cream Legbar. They lay amazing blue eggs! With an EE, you have to wait and see what you get. Could be anything from brown, pink, shades of green or blue.

Do you know of anyone with Cream Legbar chicks? I have 4 eggs left in my incubator and I don't hold much hope of their hatching. They are due to this week if so, but the rest of the eggs that came with these were either not fertile and blotchy under my egg light.

Putting out the call to those going to the TSC SWAP. I am open for orange kittens:sex does not matter (okay hubby about choked over in his chair when I read out loud was I was typing). Seriously I am in need of good ratters and my neighbor wants one to if I can find orange kittens looking for a good home. My female GH takes it on herself to be Mama for the baby animals here and my big ole English Black lab is always the Uncle. The chickens stand on him and cats use him as a waterbed to sleep on. My orange cat (Conan: yup Dear Hubby named him) was the best ever. On the chicken front looking for girls: 2-3 Cream Legbars, 1 Blue Copper Maran, 1 silkie or showgirl (I have one white showgirl from last year's TSC swap that is the best Mama) 2 LF Cochins and 2 Olive Eggers. Hubby is of the mind I could just save the long trip out and back from Loganville and just go to the local feed store that always has nice chicks, but then I would miss the excitement. Plus Cliff goes to a lot of work to make this happen.
