Cartersville has a tub full of bantams, some Red Rangers, and an empty tub from Barred Rock.
All 3 straight run.

I did give my favorite 2 ladies there my number and a list of things I'm looking for.
They said they would text me if any of those came in

So not this swap but the one in March I'm going to have a couple of laying hens to sell/trade. What do y'all think I should charge? All three are about a year old, and two just started laying in late winter.

I have a buff silkies hen
A silver laced wyandotte hen
And a Cuckoo Marans hen.

I hate to give up my buff silkie as she's one of my favorites, but the other silkie is broodier and I have limited space... Anyway, What do y'all think they're worth?

picked up another still air incubator today to use to hatch out in. For the price of what all the components would have been, it was just a little more to buy it, it's already put together and ready to use. I also scored a used desk at the local consignment shop, for TWELVE DOLLARS!!!!!! to use as the table, plus the drawers to hold all my chick supplies! HAPPY HAPPY!!!

I'd go $20 or 25 on the Marans, and $15 each on the other two MINIMUM.....put em on CL, you'd be surprised how quick they'll go. If only I'd known this before buying the welsummer chicks....

Hmmm ... I might need to talk to you about that Marans.

I can upload a picture when I get home if you're interested in her. Don't get much service here, unfortunately, but she's pretty good sized I think. Lays a very pretty coppery egg, too. She just doesn't fit in with my breeding plans and my space is limited.

I wasn't even trying to get a Marans, I bought her as a silver laced wyandote purely to keep another chick company. If she'd been a SLW I would have sold her long ago. I was just too curious to give her up until I knew what she was.

Don't worry about it. The welsummers will give you much darker eggs, I'm sure. This is a hatchery quality Marans, so not quite the dark lovely eggs we see in pictures. I do think she'd produce some lovely olive egger chicks though! And sex linked too, if mixed with a non-barred male.
