YO GEORGIANS! :)

Walmart in Rockmart has them. The lamps are on the same isle as the tools and the bulbs are on the bulb isle but sometimes they will have some by the lamps. I think mine was $7 or $8. I have found the heat lamp bulbs are too hot and I use the 100w bulb for the first few weeks and a 60w bulb after that. Mine are in the house though.
Ah! Thanks. See I was trying to think if I had seen them on the pet aisles, that's why I didn't realize they're for sure there.

Hmm. Now to tame some of these curls and head out. Can't be looking like I do now for Rockmart Walmart.. Gotta step up my game!

Did he sill have more of he CCL chicks? I know Sugar Hill out by Mall of Georgia.

Hmm, maybe its something else Sugar. LOL. Its a Resaca exit...

He hatches weekly, has a gorgeous set up, the giant metal brooder that holds HUNDREDS at a time.
I contacted him through his facebook page, not sure if I have a phone number.
he also shows dogs.
It's Sugar Valley! Yes just above Resaca, very very nice guy. Very knowledgeable. He'd never send chicks home in a box of cedar shavings like "Kevin" does.....

anyway, Justin is I-75 north through calhoun. Directions are on his FB page I do believe

Is it Kennels in the Country Justin Smithey on facebook?

And yes, I've checked my local feed store and have no interest in paying $20 for a heat lamp when I can get them for less than $10 elsewhere

No, but neither of those are in my town and is pretty much have to either pass TSC to get there, or drive further than TSC would be.
Home Depot here is closer than either TSC to you, and they have different size clamp on lights. and a good variety of bulbs. They won't have the specific 'chick' bulbs but they do have heat lamp bulbs.

as for the risks with them and fires, etc.....never trust JUST the clamp to hold it on. always put a hook screw or nail in it, then tie it as well. Over in the coop threads they always talk about making sure you have at least 3 ways to hold it and keep it from falling all the way to breaking if it comes off

Papaaaaa?? We've been over this before. TSC is closer to ME. :gig

It may only be because you can run 70mph most of the way there, but either way it's a faster trip.

Yes! I always clamp my lamp to a piece of ply wood bridged over the brooder.. Then run a piece of leather string or bailing twine through and tie it for extra stabilization.

I got ameraucanas and CCLs from justin Smithey last year. They are doing well so far. They took a long, long time to start laying. Otherwise good! Beautiful set up!

using google maps and the church just up the street from you, Home Depot in Cedartown 14.6 miles, and the TSC in Hiram is 16.4 miles.

Plus, walmart here is directly across the street from it in case you can't find what you want, it might be easier to cross over.

Of course then we might have to try to figure out "why did carcar cross the road"

HAHA! I am sure no matter what you wear you will feel overdressed once you see some of the folks there.

They use to have some of those lights on the pet isle but Walmart likes to make you look for stuff. HA! Medicine on the medicine isle? NO! Look in the garden center! HAHA!

When we were canning over the summer I had to go pick up some stuff and they were out. Turns out they keep some of the canning stuff in 3 different places in the store.
