That;s funny that they need someone to teach the class.....nobody taught anything at my class. We walked in, signed the sheet that we were there and sat down and took a test. We did have to pair up and candle 100 eggs. I was with some girl who had chickens for 7 years and she showed me how. That was it! I think I will sign up to teach the class. I am a life time Girl Scout Leader and know how to teach groups. I guess I would have to go thru a 'teaching training' first. I wonder if they pay anything? Ummm, I would probably love it and talk people's ears off! LOL

That's an idea. I was a leader and trainer. Took Train the Trainer and all.
I'm guessing it pays something, at least a stipend to pay for gas.

Well, I think it finally happened! My DH must be catching Chickenitis! We were at the local feed store and I bought 6 chicks with him watching and he didn't say anything!!!! And then, get this! We are in TS and he comes out and shows me something he bought for the chickens! It was one of those chicken swings!!!! And when we got home with it, he went straight to the run and hung it up without even going in the house first!!!! OMG!!!! And THEN, I am looking at hatching eggs on ebay and I show him some Marans eggs that I would love to have and he says, Bid on them! Am I dreaming? No, he put the bid in himself and won! Here are what the eggs look like! So excited!

I won an auction on Maran eggs like that. Still haven't received them but I hope they are that dark. Some people selling eggs on ebay are sneaky. Tell your DH, WELCOME TO THE CLUB!!

Woohoooo we got in Crested Ducks, Cayuga's, Blue/Fawn Runners and what appears to be an Ancona or something similar today. Grabbed a Cayuga finally and can someone confirm or deny the Ancona?

I have only seen a couple of people respond to the date for the get together at our place. Hopefully April 30th is good for everybody. Unless GAM has an issue that I don't know about (God knows I do know about so many of her issues) we will have it on April 30th.
