PapaChaz, my eggs rock from the time I lock them down and I'm sure even before that if I could see. LOL. PATIENCE!

I have 4 pipped now, couple of them have worked out pretty big holes, stand and watch and can see the shell being pushed out. I am excited!

the wife said that it won't make them come out any quicker if I stand there and sing happy birthday to them, I think she's wrong

this one will be out before long. the third one to start pipping, but most likely the first one out. First time the wife has seen this live, she's amazed..... :)

Just opened a bag of Nutrena Nature Wise 16% crumbles purchased at TSC for my hens and Bantam's as they prefer crumbles to pellets. But was very disappointed in the quality. Although been using this brand for more then 8 months, this bag was so fine and full of fines that I would not call it crumbles and looks like a complete waste of money. My question is what is anyone else experience with crumbles and what brands do many prefer or use. Thinking of possibly Purina or Southern States, anybody have any input or thoughts. Thanks

our local feed store carries a private label and I really like how it looks. The girls all seem to like it as well

I had hubby helping me fill waterers earlier. Boy I could hear when the wheels started turning in his head...

"Sooo the chicks on the porch, they're for sale?"

Yes.

"And what about these in the wood coop?"

For sale.

"And these brown ones here? There's FOUR boys in there!"

Those are mine and yes I know.

(Thoughtful pause)..

"But when did we decide to do Barred Rocks?" (Points to chain link kennel)

Back in December.

:lau :lau He was fairly quiet after that.

Thanks Papa, local feed store here carries Southern States, and the local TSC carries only the Nuterna Nature Wise or Purina. This bag came from the TSC in McDonough, and was questioning myself about buying it as was very unusual that some bags had coupons for two dollars off and made me wonder as never seen Natrona have coupons taped to their bags, and not all bags. Seems maybe old stock and they wanted to unload it.
So now the dilemma, what feed to use, Just saying questioning again TSC products.

Congrats on your hatch !

My birds eat the Naturewise Starter Grower Crumbles and the Naturewise Layer Pellets. From my experience with crumbles they are the same more often than not. The Flock Raiser crumbles are powdery also. Every so often a thread shows up on here where someone feels like their crumbles are too crumbled and wanting other recommendations. Sounds like it's just a fine line between perfect and too powdery and most manufacturers are constantly towing the line.
