YO GEORGIANS! :)

It was good meeting you, Carlene!
Nice!

_______

I can't wait until my current hatch finishes tomorrow. Then I get to see how my latest eBay eggs are doing.. Silver laced and lavender/split bantam Cochins! I did good, I've held off leaving feedback this time until I see how they're doing. The lady seems more legit than most, is a packing PHENOM, but I still figure having that pending feedback might give me a tiny bit of leverage were they to be duds somehow..

Maybe.
It was nice meeting you to you all are a wealth of knowledge I learned alot yesterday .:)

Katiedarling, that brownie was SO freaking good!! I'll be making those for sure. Thanks for making sure I got one before I left!

I know! They're insane. I posted a link to the recipe last night for everyone. There was no way I was gonna let you miss out on them, they're my favorite. They're ALMOST better than the Canollis that we get from the bakery down the street from my Aunt's house. Maybe. I may have to get back to you on that one. LOL

And... You can always count on me to encourage you to stuff your face with as many baked goods as you can possibly eat.

My mom's foster parents were Italian and I kinda grew up being encouraged to stuff my face. A lot. Food was always a big to-do.
Did you hold her on the way home the big girl was picking on her I felt sorry for her .

Yes. She insisted, actually! She would NOT let me put her down. And once I got them home, she wouldn't let me out of her sight. I had to put the crate in their space on the porch because she escaped within 10 seconds and tried to follow me into the house. She's smart as a whip.

yikes. Sophia is sitting on her eggs and apparently also has a runny nose and sounds congested. She sounded like that back when the hawk got her. It seemed it was from that anyway because it tore a tunneling wound into her neck and she seemed to have a little difficulty getting water down. I thought it had sorted itself out, but last night when James jumped on her, Stanley tried to also and she nearly got crushed while they scuffled because James still had a hold of her neck. I heard her breathing the way she did after the hawk and that's why I brought her in. Not sure if it's related to being injured or if she's actually sick. I can hear her all the way from the living room occasionally. Sounding like she's got something stuck in her throat.

I'm making muffins tonight but tomorrow may have to tackle the brownies for Robo. If we get that cheesecake recipe I'll be keeping that one handy for me.

The BBQ was great ... too bad that slacker papachaz didn't make his world famous sauce though.

And there were a couple of absolutely yummy looking salads and I didn't get around to tasting any.

that's a bummer. The spinach salad was awesome. That potato salad's pretty good too. I posted the link to the recipe some time late last night. And the brownies, too. Have fun unwrapping all the tiny caramels!

I am sorry I had to leave, but since my wife works weekends, I have child driving duties and the youngest had practice for her recital next weekend. There is a little trick to quail eggs, but yes, I peeled them all by hand. Put em in a pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil and boil for 3 minutes. Slowly stirring while they cook helps to center the yolks. Remove them from the heat and let sit for 3 more minutes. Then cool in ice water. Once cool, put 5 or 6 eggs in a bowl and cover with another bowl and shake/roll the eggs around to fracture the shells. Put the eggs back in the cool water to soak. The water getting inside the shell helps to loosen it. I use a small paring knife to start peeling at the large end. Once you get ahold of the membrane, you can pull the shell off like an apple peel. Some folks use a small plastic drink stirrer, the kind with a little flat part at the end. If I had a really small, thin spoon I'd use that. Once you get those hatched from the school, you'll be getting lots of little eggs. My 5 week olds started laying yesterday.
