I'm in Douglas, GA!
Hello.
nope, not kidding. Are you freakin' kidding me!?![]()
something like this I could have been ok with.....I do the Farmers Market in Dahlonega. We either pay $15 a MONTH or $70 for May thru October. We only need our Candlers license and poultry license as I am allowed to sell chicks, too!. We do not have to take food stamps, etc. We also have Saturday mornings and Tuesday afternoons. I usually sell out in an hour or two!
Ok,Papa I work the Acworth market on fri morning we do not have a fee acworth covers it because they promote buying local , they do want to be able to come to the persons house or farm at any time . They made a trip the first year to make sure you were growing your own . Other then that they would come if they received a complant .
The one in Summerville on Tuesday's you pay $7.00 and on Sat. 6.00, and you can sell what ever you like,You can reserve your spot for the year for how much I don't know and your spot is clearly marked so no one can use it when your not there or get a first come first serve spot. I have seen people with Alabama plates selling chickens, I sell my surplus roos and eggs and do quite well, I usually go on Saturday and most of the time I get there before 9am and sell out in I'm not kidding 30 mins, the car doesn't even get parked. I do have my candler's license but not the other and have never been asked for either. I'm taking a hen to sell tomorrow so we will see how we do. If your interested I can tell you the best chicken selling spots.nope, she buried the rest of the eggs in the hay, and has hollowed out a nest for her and the two chicks in a different spot. I took them away from her last night, much to her dislike, put them inside and the chicks in the brooder inside. She's back in the AM pen with the rest of them.
on another note, I know we have a couple in our little group who do the local farmers markets and I'd like to know what you pay to participate, I've checked into the one in Rockmart, and personally think they're ridiculous at what they're asking for a weekly fee to set up a table in a very lightly used parking lot that's owned by the city, tied in with all their 'rules'......maybe now I can see why they don't have real good participation
Well have a buff o that went broody. She will not leave the nest box, and with no large fertile eggs she was just sitting on non fertile eggs When I take her out of the box, beside growling at me, she will eat and drink and maybe a quick dust bath and then back to her nest box. So being I have Bantam's and a rooster, decided to try to put a couple of My Bantam's hen's egg under the buff o and let her sit on them, hopefully they may be fertile. Not sure if they hatch what I may do next. Going on day three.
If you have a roo, why do you think the BOs eggs are not fertile? Do you keep them separated? And, yes, the broody will sit on and hatch any eggs. Good luck with your hatching. Let us know how it goes!
if you want to break her, just isolate her in a way that her body temp will lower somewhat. Sometimes just isolating them gets them so tore up being away from the flock that they'll give it up. Bad thing is you're not getting eggs from her for at least 3 weeks regardless. My bantam's and the BO are in separate coops and runs, seems the bantam roo is very protective of his girls and does not care for the big girls.
can you pm me the info I need to do to be able to sell like you do?I do the Farmers Market in Dahlonega. We either pay $15 a MONTH or $70 for May thru October.
