YO GEORGIANS! :)

You don't have to convince me. Work on the wife
Oh, but she will have fun and we drag, oh I mean bring our DH's and DW's and they end up enjoying themselves. (DW=dear wife, DH=dear husband) and tell her she will get all kinds of new friends and we do have a cook out at GAMarans and Roboduck's (GAM and Robo's) farm and that is really a nice get together. We BBQ and just enjoy the day.

And, don't forget the hatching egg swap we have!

Hatching egg swap. That sounds great as soon as I get some fertile eggs. I just got an incubator, so I need some eggs to put in for my first run.

Long Branch Livestock Auction

(I think the address is technically Temple but it is right outside of Villa Rica, just off 78)

How often are these auctions? I have 2 dozen Maran's and Olive Eggers in the bator. I only need 6 hens out of the batch - so if it goes well i'm going to have a bunch of chickens to get rid of in about 2 months (once I can sex them).

@GAMarans - how does this compare to the Douglasville TSC livestock swap? I think those are also once a month.

2nd and 4th Saturday of every month ... though occasionally they drop a livestock auction in exchange for a large equipment auction. I've never been to the Douglasville TSC swap. I find the auctions to be much less work/time consuming.

Talk to me about the Marans ... I may be interested. My source for the insanely dark eggs is gone.

(A bad egg from those birds was a 6-7) So it is time to find other birds.

Where are you located. I have hatching eggs to try! I have many different breeds. They would be mixes. All different colored eggs. Many different looking chickens! Fun!

I just discovered my scratch is full of weevils! Ugh! They've been getting that scratch for a while now, who knows how many weevils they've eaten! Should I be worried? Should I throw the rest out or give them what's left and let them go crazy?

@Flowerbh , @GAMarans - Assuming this hatch goes better than my last (which was a disaster - 1 of 10) - I may have a couple of extra pullets and plenty of cockerels. The rooster I hatched these from was aggressive - so keep that in mind of you want any cockerels.

I want 6 pullets for myself - so i'm going to keep them all till I can sex them then sell the rest.

I'll keep you guys posted.
