YO GEORGIANS! :)

Hey thanks for replying everyone. I ended up calling my job. One of my jobs is at an animal hospital and they told me where to take her. She's being monitored until Monday. Basically, either she will be fine by Monday or no longer with us. I knew this was best option due to me having to go to work at the hospital tomorrow and I work at a high school during the week. She doesn't have a stuck egg. She's very weak and lost weight. Hopefully she responds to some special care and forced fluids.
please keep us updated!

I am at Six Flags. I try to avoid spending any more time around her than necessary.
She can read remember that your DOOMED.

Still exhausted! After the whole week of heavy physical work getting ready for that tv crew, then the filming, then the cleaning the house after they left (still not done with that!) , then all day at the farmers market (sold out! 12 doz. chicken and 1 doz duck eggs) and a second trip to town (25 miles one way) because I forgot my purse in Burger King (Yes, everything was in it! Yay!), then yesterday, got up at 6am and went to the NRA convention at the World Congress Center and didn't get home until 7:70pm! Must have walked 12+ miles!!! And, of course, my fitbit wasn't working! I went to bed at 8:30 last night and slept until 8:30 this morning.

I am achy all over. I wonder if my Lyme Disease is acting up. Will have to get that checked again soon. DH is concerned because I am not usually so tired. I'm usually like the energizer bunny. AND, it could be that I just switched over to a new type of Thyroid Medication and it's not right for me. Or, it could be my new diet...maybe not eating enough.

Went to let the ducks out and found a large black rat snake inside. The baby ducks and my brooding hens sitting on eggs are in there. I picked up the snake to put it in a container to take it back out in the woods, and saw it had a duck egg in its jaws. It promptly spit it out! Anyway, the snake is now a good distance away from the house/coop.

Missi your roof looks good! I just joined BYC, so getting used to the forum format is slow form me. I will look back and see what the scoop is for your coop... (new? redoing it? is the roost part under this roof?)

I built a temp roof on mine last year, because i knew we were moving and I wanted to take it apart the easiest I could. And man, has that backfired on me. It leaks, and I am constantly cleaning out and drying the roost. So, I like how you have done yours! :)

My coop had to go up fast, so the roof it had leaked and was not as secure as it needed to be, so I built this one, and have replaced the thin tin with better metal. It's getting there, I'll take more pics when im done

I've read about some folks doing that. Not sure about leaving them with her after they hatch. Let me know if you want to come by sometime and see mine or get some hatching eggs.
Thanks. I would like to check out your quail setup sometime. I don't live far from you at all, and I know someone who lives in Draketown. What kind of quail do you raise, and which kind would be the best for gathering eggs? I'm a total neophyte when it comes to quail.

Becky, had I known you were at the WCC yesterday, I could have handed off your Speckled Sussex chicks to you. There is one cockerel and two pullets, so I'm glad Lisa picked up all three instead of just two. Anyway, we were near Marietta yesterday afternoon. BTW, they're gorgeous birds. I'll keep them if you don't want them...lol! However, that cockerel is the wildest chick I have ever had. He's fine once you hold him, but he does not like to be captured for anything. He is super attractive though. VERY handsome!

Also, Lisa and I both take Synthroid, and you have to be real careful if your pharmacy switches between generics. One doctor I know will only Rx actual Synthroid and not allow generics because she has had such an issue with her patients being sensitive to dosage fluctuations between the various manufactures. Personally, I'm thinking of switching to desiccated thyroid (Armour) because supposedly it doesn't zap your energy like Synthroid generics are prone to do.

Looks solid. In that one little screened-in area on the left of the south side, it may get wet inside the coop if you get a storm coming in from the south. Of course, you would lose light if you blocked it off, so maybe leaving it open is the best thing. Anyway, nice improvement!
