YO GEORGIANS! :)

Anyone selling hens that live around 30 minutes from Mableton. I justsold some hens to make room for new ones (and no I did not sell them to someone who is gonna cook them, who would do such a thing) but I can't seem to find anyone who sells mature hens.

I am in Cedartown and would sell you a couple welsummers. Pm me if you haven't found any yet

I recommend 1/2". It's much more expensive to use 1/4"; it's harder to see through it; and, it's pretty much overkill.

Totally agree with brucifer here, and something else to consider, 1/2" is usually a heavier gauge than 1/4" so it will be stronger

I need to reduce the number of our LF cockerels and pullets and add some genetic diversity to some of the breeds/varieties upon which we're focusing, so we have some birds that I'm offering for trade, sale, or to give away. I'm making the offer here first, and then will move it to craigslist. I can provide photos for serious inquires. This list is not complete, but this is what I have so far:

8 - FBCM - 8 males - hatched 4/2/17 - These cockerels are from a show-quality line. I would prefer to trade them for other FBCM cockerels from quality lines. I really love this breed, and the roosters are relatively easy going, nice birds.
2 - CCL - 1 male/1 female - hatched 4/15/17 - These two come as a pair. $15. Lay blue eggs.
2 - Breda - 1 male/1 female - hatched 4/15/17 - These two come as a pair. $10. Lay large white eggs.
3 - Black Langshan - 1 male/2 females - hatched 4/15/17 - These three come as a package. $15. Lay dark brown eggs. I was tempted to keep these, but I decided that I have my hands full, and don't want to add a non-Orpington/non-FBCM breeding program at this time.
1 - Golden Appenzeller Spitzhauben - 1 male - hatched 4/13/17 (from Cackle Hatchery) - FREE. Very handsome bird.
3 - Silver Appenzeller Spitzhauben - 1 male/2 females - hatched 4/13/17 (from Cackle Hatchery) - These come as a package. $15. Lay large white eggs.
1 - Blue (BBS) English Orpington - 1 male - hatched 4/15/17 - Stunningly beautiful bird. Has pea comb. The pea comb and the single comb are in the UK SOP. Only the single comb is in the USA SOP. Prefer to trade for another English Orpington cockerel.
2 - Chocolate English Orpington - 2 males - hatched 2/17/17 - Champion bloodline. I'm reluctant to let these birds go, but I simply have too many chocolates right now from the same bloodline. Would consider trading for other black, chocolate, or black/CHOC split English Orpingtons.

PM if interested. Also, Lisa may have some Silkies and Sizzles for trade or sale. She has some real beauties.

I'm with Brucifer. You might just introduce more infection and it's most likely a growth. Nothing much you can do about it except have a vet remove it. If it was an infection, then I'd say drain away. But anyway, good luck with whatever you decide.
I agree. If you're going to lose the bird, cutting on it isn't likely to change things. If it's a benign growth you may just introduce infection. Just my opinion.

You are doing hard work. Getting rid of birds is tough to me. Thankfully ripping the band-aid off with @katsdar with the Biels and the CCL made it easier. I have asked Orchard Hill for my replacement eggs but have not heard back yet. I really don't care too much what eggs they are, I just need to hatch!! Really would like to try having an Orp. Preferably a Lavender or Chocolate. :) Hope your week is going well!
