YO GEORGIANS! :)

I'm sure the owner will be looking for it. According to the article they don't do well by themselves. I can't give up my chickens. Can you imagine an Emu out here the havoc it would create.
If you think the county had a problem with chickens crossing the road, just imagine the conniption they'd have if there was a problem with an emu doing it? :lau

Also, roosters move over; the emu screech/cry/call can be heard over a mile away.

The only Georgian that I know came from here

Awwww....you kind of met me before when you talked me through a late night (here) hatching problem on the hatching help thread. :) Glad to see you here! That's just a different kind of Georgia! We are also wonderful hosts and have a good bit of folklore. Just maybe in a different language!

I am sure you are!
And I am a versatile guy!

Are those the hybrid Pekins from Metzer Farms? Those are kind of like the Cornish X of the duck world. lol Those are definitely worth looking in to getting. BTW, haven't forgot about the recipe. Just need to find it.

I just googled how long to process pekin ducks and it said 7 weeks. Hopefully it's just normal ones and not special ones.

ok on a different note I have this needing a new home. Great shape just have never used it.

@katsdar The emu has found a home.

Can't they find the owner? Losing an emu is like losing an elephant or a zebra; it's not as if everyone has one. I hope they make the effort to find the owner.

From what I understand, this emu has been running loose in the area for a while. A known problem child of our Animal Control officer. My friend said he sounds like a lion. I can imagine that folks might be flustered, hearing that call morning and evening, even once they learn it's a 6ft. bird.
