YO GEORGIANS! :)

I have determined that I can get one more incubator on my sideboard that will hold 56 eggs. Have to hold off on the cabinet until our addition is complete lest I become a single lady. :lau

ETA: I wish I had thought to ask you about quail keeping. I would've loved to see your set up.
I'll be processing a bunch this Saturday if you want to come see it first hand.

Ok y'all ...question...my girls love scratch, but I read where it's not recommended during hot weather. What would y'all suggest for something to throw out in place of that?
What?? That's a strange recommendation. As long as chickens have shade and access to fresh water, they should be fine in hot weather. I also provide a fan for indoor ventilation where needed. Other than that, it's business as usual.

Ok cool! Thanks
They have a fan in their coop,, they love it. I put ice in their water. Then 2 more bowls of ice water around the yard. I made a big bowl of fresh veges and fruit and yogurt, added water and froze it overnight. OMG they annialated it!!

Something along the lines of a "Knock-out Scratch"... 11-way ... etc. should be just fine. And as long as there is plenty of fresh clean drinking water it all works out.

I don't give scratch during the summer because I've always heard it heats them up by being slow to digest or something along those lines. I give black oil sunflower seeds and fruit, like watermelon, strawberries, figs, or pears. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's how I do it.
