Gross! Spitting is disgusting. I am usually not a germaphobe, so I didn't even think to have her sanitize when she came out of the play area. I should have known better, since she wore herself out.

It's a great day--6/10 eggs have pipped! Come on, kiddos!!
Watched my first episode of Coop Dreams this morning. I don't think it is a very popular show here in Augusta but can see why us BYC ers would like it. Out of the people I know here in Augusta who have chickens they don't have much interest in there chickens health insues. Most are Islanders and they keep them cooped in small places and use them for eggs and meet. The health and wellbeing of there flocks aren't that important. Anyway I liked the show and will watch it when I can.
My back is bothering me a lot today gonna try to take it easy. Exterminator are.going to my mom's.house today to treat for bed bugs. So expensive. Several of us are chipping in to pay for it. We've spent the last week cleaning as much as we could and sprayed and fogged but she still had them. Hopefully the exterminator will take care of the rest.
Well I've spent the last 2 days killing myself and my helper, taking down my cousin's poultry pens, tin, 2x4's 4x4's, hog wire, chicken wire, you name it. I got 2 16ft trailer loads worth...I'm exausted. We had to take it all down, piece by piece...3 pens, I'll post a photo of one side...
That's awesome!! Keep us updatedLisa's done it again! A new surprise! She informed me this morning that she's made an appointment to be shown a property this Monday.
I like our present little homestead. We bought this place either 11 or 12 years, and we've had great neighbors who were friendly, loved chickens, didn't have problem dogs, looked out for us as we did for them, and who minded their own business. Unfortunately, our neighbor who was to the right of us passed away a couple of months ago, and that set the dominoes in motion. That property may be turning into a rental, and the neighbor who was on left of us (and who was kin to my neighbor on the right) sold their property last week, so Lisa has decided that she wants to leave too, and she wants to get a property further out in the country with more land.
As it is with most couples when a major decision like this is to made, we've discussed the pros and cons of moving from our present location; however, we hadn't made a mutual decision to go forward with a move. Well, I guess Lisa has! LOL!
We already live in a semi-rural area, but Lisa wants to live in an even more rural setting. God only knows how things will turn out Monday, but I know that when Lisa gets her mind set on something, it happens. It's one of the qualities I love about her even though dealing with it can be a real adventure at times. When I think about my shop, our chickens, and all the fencing Christopher and I ran this summer, I really wonder if a move is worth it, but if it makes Lisa happy, it is.
Hope everyone has a nice weekend.
Lisa and I have made a couple of moves together, but it's been awhile.Moving from a homestead is a big undertaking. My sister and her husband who lives in Athens and has a 100 acers of land are going.to sell it and move to Seattle Washington because he got a better job offer.. She is taking all her animals with her. Cats dogs.goats some of her chickens. They just started a flock of Icelandics. They just built a house last year. They are afraid they will lose money on it at this point. I don't know what there asking. If I could I would buy it from them.
This is just the first property in which she's seriously interested, so we'll just have to see what unfolds and if it's meant to be. A few others have appointments to view it Monday as well, so we're not going in with unrealistic expectations. Besides, we each have our own checklist of must-haves and deal killers. I'll let you know how this one goes. That's awesome!! Keep us updated
Oh yes...much to well!Lisa and I have made a couple of moves together, but it's been awhile.
I have a brother who lives in Seattle and a sister who used to live there. She lives in Reno, NV now. Seattle is a beautiful area, but it's getting kind of crowded, and real estate is very high. Hope your sis and BIL can find a place that suits them.
