YO GEORGIANS! :)

Hey! Is there anybody out there? Where did everybody go? I made the mistake of letting eggs hatch laying on their sides. I had so many to hatch (38), that I decided not to do it the way I usually do, thought it would take too much space. I usually have 90% (give or take a couple) success rate. They are hatching today. Although many have hatched already, the ones that haven't hatched yet are being kicked around like soccer balls. Wow! this is stressful...NEVER AGAIN!:he

I'm here. Been overwhelmed with schoolwork lately and lots of babies. We have 14 piglets now, 6 kids, 7 chicks, and I just put a few quail eggs in the incubator. I am looking forward to the summer and a break from school! (If anyone's looking for a buckling or gilt piglet or random chicks, hit me up.)

Hey y'all!! How's it going? I know I disappeared for awhile but I'm a teacher so I've been swamped with the teaching life. First year working in middle school so it was a big adjustment. The math milestone is tomorrow so I'm finally free!

Happy to report all chickens are alive. No deaths since my first one. I've lost 4 quail out of 10.

I check on the birds about twice a week. I modified their set up to where I don't need to go out as often. It has worked very well so far and they are super happy.

I acquired some land way down in Sparta, Ga. In Hancock county. Not too far from milledgeville. Almost 11 acres. Trying to figure out what animals I could keep on the property that are low maintenance. I'll only be down once a week during the school year. Much longer periods during the summer! (Weeks or so). Other days (during the school year), I'll be hiring a helper to come out throughout the week to check on things. Feed. Water. Etc. I feel like birds may be out of the question. Maybe Alpacas or llamas? Few sheep? Ahhh :idunno

Hope all is well with everyone!!!
