I'm from South Georgia, about 30 miles East of where I-75 crosses the Ga/Fl line. Nice to see so many Georgians here!!

Northeast Georgia here. Watkinsville, GA just south of Athens. We're just getting started at all this. Have 12 babies right now, 6 Americaunas and 6 are "red pullets" from TSC so the exact breed is still up for debate lol. Hope to add more to the flock soon!

Welcome Raising.. I live just south of McDonough.. so not far away at all..My mother loved the Dragonfly quilt shop in Watkinsville and I pass through there about every 2 weeks.. keep us posted on how your chicks do.. I believe the GA group is the friendliest around.

BTW, Farmer Chef I'm over 30 -and proud of it, but with my bifocals, I thought it said Formerchef and i thought Wow, so is my husband - a former Chef and Restaurant Manager and yes we eat well! He's the main vegetables farmer, I play with herbs,many poultry, raising turkeys, geese, ducks, 13 purebreds and more!!! We been with BYC for years now and into poultry for over 5 years. We invited you all to drop by our farm this Saturday, we'll be having Dazzling Duckling, chicks, poults and bunny Days again.

Our ducklings are just so cute and I could just kiss our poults...Well Shelly probably knows I have. So from 2 to 4:00 pm this Saturday...Got more babies that came out of the incubator today! We bring out hatches twice a week during this time of year!!!! have a blessed and happy week. cannot believe it's wednesday....That storm really got us thrown off our work and sleep schedule but that's okay!

Farming means faith, flexibility, prayer and perspiration and endurance. We have all of that but most of all faith and prayer! See y'all....It's milking time!!! and baby bunnies should be born tonight...I'm so excited. And Shelly, Sweet Karen was kind enough to let me have a White Silkie that's already laying eggs, she's SQ and already laying eggs. I've been dancing around the farm all day with her!

I'm proud to be a Georgia, all but 6 months of my life and I was born in Illinois and that's why I love the south! Looking forward to juicy tomatoes this year and fried okra coming from the garden, but in the mean time, I'm munching down on spinach, kale and homemade cheese pizza with homemade sourdough crust!!!! Just wishing I had been a farmer all of my life and not started so late, but this is the way it was meant to be....

I won't say who it is, but I had to hold back a huge laugh and disguise it with a cough, when this week a person asked if there had to be a rooster so the hens would lay eggs! " No, I said with an overly stern face and laughing eye, "but it helps if you want babies to have a rooster with the hens". The poor man was flabbergasted and said, "so that's why the eggs never hatched..... I said "Yes sir". Well, he didn't buy a rooster but he got some lovely hatching eggs.... As he drove away in a spotless, well loved Mercedes sportsy car, I thought of Granny's favorite expression " Well, if that don't beat all"......... I was glad when he left because I got to laugh until I cried. You see, I'm double degreed but through Granny's training, I even knew the answer...That experience was better than a Mercedes any day. Besides mechanics charge more to repair them!
