RENAE!!! SO GLAD YOU JOINED OUT THREAD. WHAT KIND OF CHICKENS ARE YOUR RAISING IN YOUR NECK OF THE WOODS?

hey everyone!

haven't been on much lately. been traveling. changing jobs. bought some new chickens from a local breeder and lost one in 2 weeks, and another last week. sent the first one off to UGA for labs and finally got that back. seems pullet was completely eaten up with bacteria, parasites and infections - including listeria. treated those that were left and hope after the following treatment in 3 weeks, i take stool samples to the vet and maybe we'll be ok and back to normal. and i won't be buying from that breeder again! (heads up: Uncle B's Feed and Seed in Ellijay.)

The Apple Festival is here this weekend and next weekend. If anyone comes up please contact me on my cell at 678.894.6355. Would love to meet up with you!

We are also looking for a Great Pyrenees female puppy. If you know of anyone in the North West Georgia area or North Metro Atlanta we would love to hear.

Husband Jon is designing Hex signs for the barn (from our trip to Indiana last month). Have a fabulous week fellow chicken lovers!!!

I WANTED TO COME UP SO BAD THIS LAST WEEKEND BUT JUST COULDN'T JUSTIFY THE GAS MONEY TO DO SO. WE ARE HEADED TO SEE OUR SON THIS WEEK IN VA AND THAT IS GOING TO COST US SO IT WAS JUST TOO MUCH. I BET IT IS JUST GREAT!!! DID YOU GO YOURSELF?

YOU NEED TO REPORT THAT BREEDER TO THE AUTHORITIES. MY GOODNESS IT COULD HAVE WIPED OUT AN ENTIRE FLOCK AND JUST THE COST OF HAVING TO PROTECT THE REST OF YOUR CHICKENS. IF SOMEONE WAS TO EAT ONE OF THEIR CHICKENS WOULDN'T THAT KILL YOU? ARGHHHHHH THAT TICKS ME OFF TO HEAR THAT.

LET US ALL KNOW WHAT HAPPENS AND I'M SO SORRY THAT HAPPENED TO YOU. BLESSINGS ON THE REST OF YOUR CHICKS.

Ok- now they are cooing. One of them, I think is the female, even tho they have the same size comb, will be for sale after she gets out of quarantine and deemed healthy. She is pet quality- she had hard feathers in her tail. -Pam Now, I'll try to be quite ;0

Here is the one that is supposed to be a cockerel (?) Little cleaner...

Yeah- I'm gonna keep him. The female has "hard" feathers in her tail, instead of fluff. I might sell her. I dunno. They are in quarantine until Nov 12th, so I have time to decide. Her back seems a little long, too. But, I'm very knew to this, and don't know a lot. This is the female...

Her back doesn't look as long when she has her head back.

we had a great time at the festival and the Downtown Arts in the Park on the same weekend. Got lots of really unique items for ourselves and for gifts. weather was absolutely perfect. looks like this coming weekend will be the same. you can always try for next year, plus there are so many other festivals this time of year. the last weekend of Sept., Duluth, Ga does a fabulous fall festival.

have a safe and wonderful trip to Va and enjoy every minute! do you travel up I-85?

talk to you when you get back!
