i was wondering what brand, and or taste of yogurt can a chicken eat? and muffins, what type can chickens eat? "again" i am trying to get good ideas for yummy treats for the chickens any more suggestions?

My chickens love vanilla flavored yogurt. But I think any yogurt with live cultures would be great. I think any bread or muffin is okay, I personally wouldn't use anything hot and spicy.

I think it is better to stay away from the sweetened yogurts. My girls love just plain fat free yogurt, no flavors, no sugar added. They also go crazy for stale bread, fruits and veggies (nothing to fragrant like onion or garlic), and just about anything else they can get a hold of. They aren't too crazy for things like crackers and other dry snacks but they'll eat it.

ive just started giving yogurt, it took 2 times for all of them to discover it. their other favorite....grapes. its the funniest show Ive ever seen.

My girls LOVE the sweetcorn that my neighbor has deemed too small - better than zuchini, better than bread, not so fabulous as watermelon.
DON'T GIVE YOUR CHOOKS PROCESSED FOOD. I like Cheetos, but know they are garbage, not for healthy chickens!

That's so true~~I did that once & there was way too much salt in it for them & they drank & drank a ton of water. It was just not good for them from what I could see.

My chickens love Dannon Yogurt. I buy the large containers & sprinkle some flax seeds on top to boost their Omega-3s.

thanks for the advise! i am going to go to the store in a couple of days and buy these things for my chickies:
vinilla yogurt
watermellon
and muffins

i hope they like them because i am going to get a lot of each!

My chickens absolutely hated yogurt until I made some of MissPrissy's homemade yogurt. They love that yogurt and go nuts when I bring them some! They also enjoy the black oil sunflower seeds, ears of corn, a bowl of warm oatmeal, cornbread, watermelon, scrambled and hard boiled eggs, pasta, a pumpkin cut in half and contents left inside for them, cheerios, broccoli, kale, peas, mealworms, earthworms, crickets, clover, strawberries, and I can't think of anymore right now!
