I've often read chickens love yogurt. My wife and I enjoy no fat, low calorie yogurt in many fruit flavors. Our chickens ignore it. I suspect the low calorie content of our yogurt is the result of artificial sweeteners. I know some chemicals taste different to different creatures. What may seem sweet to me, may taste bitter to a chicken. What kind of yogurt do you feed your chickens as a probiotic? Will they eat unsweetened, natural yogurt?

Thanks

Ted

Yes. My chickens love the unflavored store brand yogurt from Walmart. Don't feed your chickens the flavored ones, it's completely unnecessary for them to have the added sugars/fake sweeteners and flavorings.

I put mine in a saucer and my hens stick their beaks into it like straws and "drink" it up! Then they shake their heads and splatter it on everything.
