I was in my yard doing chores and noticed one of my regular girls in the nesting box. I hung around a few minutes and saw her leave so I went to pick up her egg. The nesting material was soaked with what looked looked like a cracked egg- some yellow and clear liquid. There is absolutely no membrane or shell in site. She gets 16% protein feed along with oyster shell and occasional meal worms. All the other hens are laying fine (and she usually does as well). I’m perplexed.

She could be eating eggs...or she layed a soft egg and ate that.
