Yolk sac attached

Im sorry for your tears.
Don't give up yet...
I have a special needs guy, Mushy. He doesn't walk well and is slow. He was from a hen's nest. Apparently there was bacteria in the nest. She hatched six. 4 died immediately, one was strong and healthy, Mushy wasn't. He couldn't keep up with mom and the new brother. He had yolk stuck on him for a couple of days. I (not knowing better at the time) put some antibiotic cream on him and stuck him under another broody who was hatching. Fortunately, the other chicks didn't get a bacteria from him. They hatched a week later and he was raised with his biological sister and 2 others. He is worthless in the grand scheme of things (can't breed him) but I've made a pet of him. He is over a year old now. Has a coop- in -the -coop and his own fenced outdoor area. His sister spends a lot of time with him.
I hope your chick pulls through! If not, you will be strong enough to go on. Good luck!

Let the wee one sleep. It's HARD work for them to get out of that shell. You can expect a new chick to sleep the better part of 18 hours a day for the first few days. The egg yolk that they absorb before hatch (or in your case slightly after that) is enough nutrition to hold them over for at least two days. Worry less. You are giving this squirt the chance of life, and that is all that is asked of you. Keeping you and your feathered family in my prayers.

If I were you I would apply antibiotic ointment and keep him away from the other chicks, it might just be that his yoke was too large and that he couldn't fit anymore inside of him, don't try and feed him until that last little knob has been absorbed all right?
