You wake up at 9 on a Saturday to find out the hen cam has been offline since 6:15 and you head for the coop to check on the chicks before your coffee!

Then you call the help line and after an hour you find out they are sending parts!!! Really??? When we are in mid hatch???

@Ballerina Bird I got it working pretty quick because my husband suggested that I try switching the adapter with one that we already had. I made sure to cover the usb to plug joint with tape. It is so dusty in the coop, even up at the ceiling where the outlets are!

This is from my iPhone, I have to edit the one from the hen cam because it is so long - almost 10 minutes!

So cute! Absolutely adore!! Your broody/mommy is such a love! I feel like my heart grew three sizes just watching that; thanks for posting.

I really wish I could have a coop cam, but I don't have power at my coop. I am hoping that sometime this spring, I will be able to post "You know you love your chickens when you buy a new house on a big piece of property with a barn on it, so you can build a new coop for your birds with water and power." (I am house hunting right now.)

We have a pool that is about 40 feet from the coop, so my husband ran a heavy duty extension cord until spring. Then we will run the conduit under ground. I had three well secured heat lamps, an automatic door, and outside the coop, the water bucket has a birdbath heater sitting in a clay pot. I have to work on a better arrangement once it really warms up. I do have a solar light in the run, but it is angled to go off when people are there - the chickens wouldn't go into the coop as long as the light was on and they got locked out a couple of times - luckily I could tell when I reviewed the camera footage!

Nice to hear that I'm not the only one who gets all gooey when watching mommies and babies.

When you go to Tractor Supply and purposely don't get a buggy, because you don't trust yourself. Then when you realize their baby chicks aren't there yet, you leave mad lol.

I recently installed an Arlo wireless Web/security cam in my run. I ot it at Best Buy. It is battery powered and fully wireless. My entire extended family has been using the phone app to watch the girls. Lots of fun.

@Raggedyroad I totally agree that listening to them talk to each other is so wonderful! That has been one of the nicest surprises about chickens -- they make such lovely little sounds!
